Looking Back, Looking Forward: June 2013

Random-stagram, June:

It’s berry season, it’s fruit salad time.

What I Reviewed, June 2013:

What’s On Deck*, July 2013:

  • The Tigress of Forli – after seeing this book on Books in the Burbs as part of the Literary Blog Hop, I just had to pick this one up
  • High Fidelity – guilty-pleasure-sitting-in-the-park fiction
  • Foucault’s Pendulum – occult, conspiracy theories, historical fiction-y goodness
  • The Thin Man – does anything need to be said about this classic?

*Subject to revision by availability, stop-the-presses-this-book-must-come-first, boredom and other whims.

  1. I read THE TIGRESS OF FORLI and loved it. Italian politics during the Renaissance is a miasma of intermarriages, alliances, and betrayals, and it can be very daunting. I felt like the author did an excellent job of explaining the tangled connections while shining a spotlight on Catherine Sforza. I hope you enjoy it!

    • Thanks! I had been watching The Borgias and I really enjoyed her character and the Cesare/Caterina dynamic. I can’t wait to see how much of that is true to life and how much of it was dramatized, but so far it sounds like her personality was pretty accurate.
